Welcome To Our Website!
Welcome to the Spoto PTSA website! The goal of our PTSA is to bring together parents, teachers, families and community to provide our children with the best education possible. Improving communication is one of the steps toward that goal. We welcome your feedback on our site and hope you will check back frequently for updated news and information.
CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS!
We have so many exciting things planned for the 2013-2014 school year, but we need your help! We can't do it alone! Please consider helping out in any way you can. We will take any spare minute you have to help make our school the best in the county!! Visit the Get Involved! link and fill in the information. Someone will contact you to let you know of upcoming ways you can help. The volunteer page will also contain upcoming events and open volunteer positions. Our kids and our school need you!
HAPPENINGS AT SPOTO
Spoto has had a great start to the new year, and a few unexpected changes, but the year looks like it will be our best one ever.
As many of you may have heard by now, our Principal Mr. Carr has left Spoto. The faculty, staff and students appreciate all that he has done for our school and will miss him terribly. We were very excited at the announcement that our new principal will be none other than our favorite APC, Mr. New! Congratulations Mr. New!!!.
Our sports programs are underway, and soon our clubs will be in full swing. Club days are held the first Wednesday of every month.
As we continue with the start of our schoo year, please don't forget about joining PTSA. Even if you can not volunteer your time, your membership alone will help us to provide many programs to our school and to our children. Click the Membership link to download the membership form. We are all looking forward to our best year ever!
Spoto Has A New Drop-Off / Pick-Up Procedure!
If you have not been to the school recently, be prepared for a new traffic pattern at the front of the school. A new median has been installed on Eagle Palm Drive in front of the school, and as a result, the student drop-off and pick-up procedure has changed.
As of the first day, STUDENTS WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE TO BE DROPPED OFF OR PICKED UP AT THE FRONT OF THE SCHOOL! Student drop-off and pick-up will be at the former covered bus ramp located in the student parking lot. Bus drop off will now be located in the student parking lot at the gate nearest the gym.
This change was made for the safety of our students, faculty and our parents, so please adhere to the new procedure and BE CAREFUL!

PTSA SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE
As we all know, the beginning of the school year means a shopping trip for school supplies. For some of our Spoto families, it is a very stressful time.
In an effort to support our families in need, the Spoto PTSA is conducting a School Supply Drive beginning August 26th and lasting the whole year. All collected supplies will be kept in the Guidance office and distributed to those students who are in need.
So please, as you are out purchasing your child's school supplies, remember those families who aren't as fortunate. Purchase an extra item or two to contribute. Supplies can be dropped off in Room 231. Following are the items that are most needed:
Pencils, Pens, Loose-Leaf paper, Notebooks, Binders, Composition Notebooks and Calculators.
Thank you in advance for your support!
